Model ITI Courses

Model ITI was set up by the Government of India to conduct restructured pattern of Craftsmen Training Programme on modular basis in the areas of Electrical and Electronics group of trades. The trainees had undergone common course known as BBBT (Broad Based Basic Training) in their first year in Electrical, Electronics and Allied trades as well as in Engineering Drawing, Workshop Science and Calculation. At the end of first year basic training there would be All India Trade Test conducted by National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) and a "National Trade certificate in Basic Training” of the respective group of trades is awarded to successful trainees. Those who complete the basic training successfully shall undergo further training in any of the following modules offered in institutes during the second year of training.

Kerala government order, issued by the Department of Labour and Rehabilitation, equating the NCVT certificates issued by Model ITI to the NCVT certificates issued by ITIs in the state of Kerala in the same trades. Download
